Mold Food & Drink Festival 2026

The Mold Food & Drink Festival returns on 19 and 20 September 2026, filling the market town of Mold with the sights and smells of North Wales’s best food and drink. One of the most popular food events in North East Wales, the festival brings producers, artisan makers and local food businesses together in the town centre for a two-day celebration of Welsh and regional food culture.

Stalls spread across the town square and surrounding streets, with Welsh cheeses, smoked meats, artisan breads, honey, preserves, seasonal vegetables and local craft drinks all well represented. Cooking demonstrations, tastings and live entertainment run throughout both days, and the festival has a lively community atmosphere that reflects Mold’s role as Flintshire’s thriving county town.

Mold (Yr Wyddgrug in Welsh) sits in the Alyn Valley in the hills of north-east Wales, within easy reach of both the North Wales coast and the hills of the Clwydian Range — designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town has a strong cultural identity: it is the birthplace of the painter Richard Wilson, and the National Eisteddfod has been held here. Daniel Owen, the first major Welsh-language novelist, was also a Mold man.

Mold is conveniently placed for exploring both North East Wales and the North Wales coast. Chester is around 12 miles to the north-east, while the Clwydian Range, Ruthin and the Vale of Clwyd are all within easy reach to the west.
