Llangollen Food Festival 2026

The Llangollen Food Festival returns on 10 and 11 October 2026, bringing two days of Welsh food, drink and artisan produce to this beautiful North Wales town on the banks of the River Dee. Llangollen is best known for its International Musical Eisteddfod, but the October food festival has become a fixture in its own right — a celebration of regional produce in one of Wales’s most scenic and accessible market towns.

The festival brings together producers from across Wales and the border counties, with a focus on local and seasonal food. Expect artisan cheese, charcuterie, baked goods, preserves, ales and spirits alongside cookery demonstrations and tastings. The town’s compact centre — largely pedestrianised for the weekend — gives the event an intimate, sociable feel quite different from larger corporate food festivals.

Llangollen sits in the Dee Valley in Denbighshire, surrounded by some of the finest scenery in north-east Wales. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — is just two miles from the town centre, and the Horseshoe Pass is a dramatic short drive into the hills. October is an excellent time to visit, with the valley foliage at its autumn best.

The town has a good range of accommodation for its size, from hotels overlooking the river to B&Bs in the surrounding valley. It’s also within easy reach of Wrexham (15 miles) and Chester (25 miles), both of which have more extensive hotel options if the town itself is full for the festival weekend.
