Pontyfest 2026

Pontyfest — the Gwyl Pontardawe Festival — returns to Pontardawe in the Swansea Valley from 13 to 16 August 2026. Running since 2013 and traditionally held on the third weekend in August, it’s a four-day community music festival centred on Pontardawe Arts Centre, with an eclectic mix of tribute acts, tribute bands, and original artists across multiple stages.

The festival has built a loyal following across South Wales for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and its commitment to keeping costs accessible. Each day brings a different programme — from afternoon sessions through to evening headline sets — with a mix of rock, pop, indie and country acts drawing crowds from across the region.

Pontardawe sits in the Upper Swansea Valley, with the hills of the Brecon Beacons National Park rising to the north and the city of Swansea around 12 miles to the south. The surrounding area has a strong industrial and cultural heritage — the town gave its name to the internationally renowned Pontardawe International Festival of Folk Music, which ran for many years before Pontyfest took its place in the local calendar.

Swansea city and the Gower Peninsula are both within easy reach for those wishing to combine the festival with a broader visit to South Wales. Accommodation is available in Swansea, Neath and the surrounding valleys.
