Cardiff Half Marathon 2026

The Cardiff Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 4 October 2026, drawing tens of thousands of runners through the streets of the Welsh capital in one of the largest road running events in the UK. The 13.1-mile route takes in some of Cardiff’s most recognisable landmarks — Cardiff Castle, the civic centre, Roald Dahl Plass and Cardiff Bay — on a course that is largely flat and fast.

A full marathon relay option is also available for teams of two.

Cardiff Half Marathon weekend brings a significant boost to the city, with runners, supporters and spectators arriving from across Wales and the UK. The event village near the finish line includes post-race refreshments, entertainment and a medal presentation area. Spectators can find good vantage points throughout the course, particularly around Cardiff Castle and in Cardiff Bay.

Cardiff city centre has a wide range of hotels, guesthouses and serviced apartments, and accommodation books up quickly for race weekend. Arriving by rail is recommended as road closures affect city centre traffic during the race. Cardiff Central station is a short walk from the event village.
