Gwynfe is a real find on the wild western edge of the Brecon Beacons. My top tip is to head for the Black Mountain. It is a prime choice for a low cost day in the fresh air. You can hike the high trails to see the red kites soar. The air is very clean and the hills are green. You will find small stone walls and narrow lanes. Nearby sits the old fort of Carreg Cennen on a high cliff. It is a fine spot to see the sun set over the land. Life here is very slow and quiet. This is a true gem for a break in nature. It is real Wales. You will love it.
