A Peaceful Touring and Camping Park near Barmouth
Llwyn Griffri is a quiet, family-run caravan park and campsite at Talybont, on the coast a few miles north of Barmouth and within Snowdonia National Park. With spectacular views of the sea and the mountains and the beach within walking distance, it is a relaxed, great-value base for a traditional touring or camping holiday on the lovely Cardigan Bay coast.
Pitches and facilities
The park welcomes touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, with generous grass pitches measuring between ten and twelve metres wide and electric hook-ups available on many of them. Practical facilities are all on hand, including coin-operated showers, a covered washing-up area, a fridge-freezer for guests, and disabled facilities with a family room. There are play swings on site to keep younger campers happy, and the whole place has an easy-going, friendly feel.
It is a genuinely peaceful spot — the sort of site where you can pitch up, throw open the awning and take in the view of the water and the hills. Check-in is from 1pm and you are asked to leave by noon on departure day.
The setting is what brings people back: a quiet, traditional site on a stretch of coast where the mountains of Snowdonia rise almost straight from the sea. Right on the doorstep are the Taith Ardudwy Way and the Wales Coast Path, plus Gors y Gedol woods to wander, so walkers are spoilt for choice. After a day out you can stroll to the beach, the local pub or a nearby restaurant without getting back in the car — a relaxed, good-value way to enjoy the Cardigan Bay coast.

The park sits within walking distance of the beach, a pub and local restaurants, and is around five miles from Barmouth and seven from Harlech. Barmouth is a classic seaside town where the Mawddach estuary meets the sea, known for its long sandy beach, its dramatic railway viaduct and the lovely Panorama Walk. From the campsite you can step straight onto the Taith Ardudwy Way and the coastal path, or explore Gors y Gedol woods nearby. The flat, scenic Mawddach Trail runs from Barmouth to Dolgellau beneath the mighty Cadair Idris, and the Coed y Brenin mountain-biking trails are within reach.
