The cabins

There are three log cabins to choose from. Caban Diffwys sleeps two, with its own private sauna and spa shower — ideal for a romantic escape. Caban Idris and Caban Mawddach each sleep four (a double and two singles), and both enjoy beautiful views over the Mawddach estuary. All the cabins have fully equipped kitchens and WiFi, and there are also two camping pitches for those who prefer to be under canvas. Dogs are welcome (a small charge of £5 per dog applies), so the whole family can come along.

The setting

The cabins sit in a peaceful spot at Arthog, looking out over the Mawddach — widely regarded as one of the most beautiful estuaries in Britain — with the mountains rising behind. Arthog and the Mawddach

Arthog sits on the southern shore of the Mawddach estuary, perfectly placed for the outdoors. The level, scenic Mawddach Trail runs along the estuary — wonderful for walking and cycling — and the brooding mountain of Cadair Idris rises just behind. The seaside village of Fairbourne, with its beach and miniature railway, and the town of Barmouth across the estuary are both less than two miles away. There is plenty to discover from Garthyfog. The handsome market town of Dolgellau, with its dark-stone buildings and good places to eat, is a short drive away, the mountain-bike trails at Coed y Brenin are within easy reach, and Cadair Idris offers one of the most rewarding mountain walks in Wales.
