The renowned Centre for Alternative Technology is about ten minutes away — a great family day out.

Pennal, Machynlleth and the coast

The village of Pennal is within walking distance, and the historic market town of Machynlleth — with its famous Wednesday street market and its place in Welsh history as Owain Glyndŵr’s parliament town — is just three miles away. The coast is close too: the lovely seaside village of Aberdyfi, with its beach and golf course, is around 15 minutes’ drive, with Borth and Aberystwyth a little further down the Cambrian coast. The little Talyllyn and Corris narrow-gauge railways and the waterfalls and mountain-bike trails of Coed y Brenin forest are also within easy reach for a memorable day out.
