The castle celebrates around 850 years since Lord Rhys completed it and hosted the first Eisteddfod here in 1176. Today its restored grounds include beautiful Regency-style gardens, complete with a Regency vegetable garden where produce is grown on site. The on-site 1176 restaurant and café serves food made with that home-grown produce, open daily from breakfast through the day, with Sunday lunches a speciality.
