A Victorian guest house with mountain views in Betws-y-Coed
Set in an elevated position on the edge of Betws-y-Coed, this handsome Victorian house has been refurbished into a warm, family-run, four-star bed and breakfast, with several rooms looking out over the village and the surrounding Snowdonia mountains. Steeped in Victorian character but comfortable and up to date, it is an inviting base for walkers, families and couples who want to explore the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) and return each evening to a proper breakfast and a friendly welcome.
Comfortable, refurbished rooms
There are nine en-suite bedrooms in all, each with a recently refurbished bathroom. Most rooms sleep two and are arranged over the first and second floors, with a choice of kingsize, superking or twin beds, and one room has a characterful four-poster kingsize bed. Four of the front-facing rooms enjoy the best of the views over the village and the hills beyond. For guests who prefer not to tackle the stairs there are two ground-floor rooms: one sleeps two with a kingsize bed, while a larger ground-floor room sleeps three to four and has its own private outdoor space and a walk-in shower — a good choice for a small family.
Breakfast to set you up for the day
A full breakfast is included with every stay, freshly prepared and generous enough to fuel a day on the mountains. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and other dietary needs are happily catered for, and there are home-baked Welsh touches such as Welsh cakes and bara brith. If you are heading out early for a walk or a climb, early breakfasts and takeaway breakfast options can be arranged so you never miss out.
Practical comforts
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, and there is generous on-site parking with space for up to nine cars — a real bonus in a busy village where parking can be tight. The house is non-smoking, with facilities provided outside for those who wish to smoke, and guests have the use of a decking area to sit out and take in the surroundings. Betws-y-Coed sits within a designated Dark Sky area, so on clear nights the stargazing from this elevated spot can be wonderful.

Exploring Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia
Betws-y-Coed is the much-loved gateway village to Snowdonia, sitting where the Conwy, Llugwy and Lledr rivers meet amid forest and mountains. From the house it is a walk of around twenty minutes into the village centre, with its cafés, restaurants and Welsh craft shops. The area is packed with things to do: the spectacular Swallow Falls, the trails of Gwydir Forest and Llyn Elsi, all three Zip World sites, the Go Below underground adventures and, a little further afield, Conwy Castle and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) itself.
