Walk into Aberystwyth
This caravan sits on Penparcau Road at Aberystwyth Holiday Village, on the rise at the southern edge of the town, and the balcony looks back over the rooftops. Aberystwyth Castle is a nineteen-minute walk and North Beach is 1.3 miles, so the car can stay where it is for most of the week.
Inside the caravan
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room with room to spread out. The kitchen is fully fitted, and the balcony is the part people remember — it faces the town rather than a hedge. WiFi runs at 22 Mbps, which is enough to work or stream. Guests score it 8.7 out of 10, and couples give the location 9.5.
The park
Aberystwyth Holiday Village has been family-run since 1987. There is an indoor swimming pool, a bar and a coffee shop. A children’s play area, a terrace to sit out on and free private parking come with it.
What to do in Aberystwyth
Aberystwyth is a proper seaside town with a university in it, so it stays open and busy out of season. The promenade runs from the harbour to Constitution Hill, where the cliff railway carries you up for the view over Cardigan Bay. It is the longest electric funicular in Britain.
The National Library of Wales is free to walk into. The Vale of Rheidol steam railway climbs twelve miles up to Devil’s Bridge and its waterfalls, and Clarach Bay is 3.7 miles up the coast.
