Machynlleth is the ancient capital of Wales. It sits in the green Dyfi Valley. My top tip is the Clock Tower. It stands in the heart of the town. You can visit the Owain Glyndŵr Centre for free. It is a prime choice for a low cost look at history. The town has deep roots in trade. You can walk to the MOMA gallery to see local art. For a fresh walk, head to the paths of the Plas. There you can see tall trees and clear views. The air is fresh and the hills are green. Red kites fly in the sky above the shops. It is a smart spot for a trip in Mid Wales. Life here is calm and authentic.
