Kilgetty is a good base in West Wales. It is near the sea but far from the crowds. My top tip is the old train path. It leads to the iron works at Stepaside. The path is flat and easy to walk. You go through green woods for free. The village has a glass studio. You can watch the glass blowers work with fire. For a low cost day out, use the train stop. It is a quick hop to the sands of Tenby. You can see red kites in the sky here. This village is a prime spot for a value break. It has deep roots in the old coal trade of the glen.
