Fishguard is a town of two halves in North Pembrokeshire. My top tip is to visit the Lower Town harbour. This tiny port was the film set for Under Milk Wood. It feels like time has stopped here. Up on the high ground, the main town has a great local feel. You can see the site of the Last Invasion of Britain from 1797. The cliff paths give grand views of the deep blue sea. You can watch the big boats head for Ireland. The air is fresh and the walks are free. This is a prime spot for a low cost break. It has a real Welsh soul and warm local hearts.
