Ferryside is a real find on the mouth of the River Tywi. My top tip is to use the request stop railway station. It is a prime choice for a low cost trip. You can catch the small ferry across the blue water to Llansteffan. From the shore, you see the grand stone castle on the high hill. The village has a long past of cockle picking. You can walk the soft sands at low tide. The air is fresh and the views of the estuary are world class. This is a quiet spot with a very warm heart. Life moves with the tide here. It is a true gem for a peaceful break by the river.
