Dinas Mawddwy is a true find in the wild hills of the Dyfi Valley. My top tip is the walk along the river. You can see the tall peak of Aran Fawddwy from the main road. The village has a long past. It was once the home of the Red Bandits. These men were famous for their red hair and sharp axes. Today, the pace of life is much slower. You can visit the old wool mill to see local crafts. The air is fresh and the hills are very green. It is a prime spot for a low cost break in the peaks. This is real Wales. It is quiet and full of soul. You will love the views here.
