Beaumaris is a historic gem on the shores of the Menai Strait. It is home to a grand castle with a deep moat. King Edward I built this site as the final part of his iron ring. You can walk along the Victorian pier to see the blue water. The town streets are full of bright shops and ancient buildings. Notably, the old jail and courthouse tell dark tales of the past. You can look across the strait to see the high peaks of Eryri. The air is fresh and the views are very wide. Small boats bob in the harbour near the green park. It is a fine place for a quiet walk.
