It is very popular with surfers and water sports enthusiasts. Besides the beaches, there are cliff top walks, beautiful woodlands, medieval churches, and ancient castles to explore.

Mumbles Pier

The pier is set in Mumbles five miles from the heart of Swansea. It is a beautiful structure built by the Victorians back in 1898. It covers 225 metres and has been renovated in recent years. It was once a docking point for steamers bringing tourists to Mumbles. While the steamers are no longer in operation, the pier has remained intact. It is a great place for an afternoon stroll. You can enjoy superb views of the Mumbles Lighthouse and gaze at the strong currents of the Bristol Channel rushing beneath your feet. Old Victorian buildings and modern structures dot the Pier’s land-based part. The new bildings house a restaurant, bar, cafe and amusement arcades.

Oystermouth Castle

This castle was once home to the Marcher Lords of Gower and was frequently under attack from the Welsh population during that period. It overlooks Swansea Bay and has a keep that dates back to the twelfth century. During the summer months, it hosts outdoor performances.

The Mumbles is a great location for year-round holidays. It has excellent shopping, lovely attractions, and great accommodation. If you want to create lasting memories, stay in a Mumbles holiday cottage.
