Corris Mine Explorers
Venture underground with one of the best Mine Explorers in Britain to discover the secrets of this forgotten world.
Braich Goch slate mine was hand dug by Victorian miners. Mining started in 1836 and continued until the 1970s when the door creaked shut for the last time, leaving a virturally untouched time capsule. You can now explore these historic workings.
There's a choice of exciting trips; our Mine Explorers Trip takes you deep into the old mine workings with the optional use of ropes, ladders and scrambling. You'll be thrilled as stories of the mine's history spill out in such a way, it almost brings it back to life.
Our Taster Trip is, just that, a shorter trip (1 hour) that takes you into the old mine where you explore the old dark workings with a torch. This is a perfect trip for families and anyone wanting to try it out.
Our Off-Piste Mine Adventure is for groups of 6 or more (groups of friends, family or colleagues). It's an exhilarating new route where youll venture into fresh territory with challenges along the way. With half a day youll be using ropes, ladders, balancing and scrambling to navigate through the mine.
History, Discovery, Adventure and Fun all rolled into a fantastic trip with one of the Best Mine Explorers in Britain.
