Trawsdir Campsite - Barmouth
Trawsdir Touring & Camping Park
Trawsdir is a 5 STAR family run and maintained Touring & Camping Site, situated on the Mid Wales coast just 2 1/2 miles north of Barmouth, with magnificent views over Cardigan Bay and the Lleyn Peninsular, and just a few minutes walk away from miles of beautiful sandy beach.
We have Tourer and Motorhome Super Pitches, Camping with or without electric, and Family Glamping Pods.
The surrounding area is ideal for hiking or walking. Try one of the many footpaths which offer excellent views of the countryside such as the Mawddach Trail over Barmouth Bridge or the Panorama Mountain Walk, both with views over the Mawddach Estuary.
Mountain biking enthusiasts can try the Coed y Brenin Centre, which offers forestry and hill trails varying from easy family runs to the expert Bull Run.
Enjoy a round of golf on the wooded hillside course at Dolgellau or at the splendid Royal St. Davids at Harlech, or simply while away the hours fishing the local rivers, estuary, and sea.
Trawsdir is situated in the Snowdonia National Park in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is ideally located for visiting the many local attractions including Harlech, Criccieth and Caernarfon Castles, Portmeirion Italianate Village, Snowdon, Tal-y-Llyn, Fairbourne and Ffestiniog Light Railways offering scenic trips on the old steam trains, the local lakes from Cwm Bwchan and the Roman Steps to the famed Blue Lake at Fairbourne, slate caverns at Llanfair and Blaenau Ffestiniog and many more.
Trawsdir caters for up to 30 tents and 70 tourers and 3 Family Pods. All touring pitches have electric, water and wastewater facilities, a majority of which are hard standing. There are a payphone and a Park Office/Reception where friendly staff is on hand to help with inquiries and distribute leaflets of local attractions.
In addition, there are Showers, Toilets, and a Launderette. Gas available for sale, ice blocks are available for hire. A small selection of groceries and provisions are also available for purchase at Reception. There are a Children's Play Area and Grade 1 Disabled facilities.
Touring, Camping and Camping with Electric have designated areas and booking is required and advised for these facilities during busy periods. At quieter times turning up without booking is ok as long as it is before 5.00pm. We only take couples and families, no large groups or groups of singles and dogs are accepted at an extra charge.
Family Glamping Pods are wooden structures that replace the need for a tent. You can bring everything for camping but without the hassle of putting up a tent in any weather. They have heating, double glazing, insulation, extra socket, and veranda and can sleep up to 5. Pet-Friendly Pods are also available. Smoking or cooking, including BBQ's, are not allowed in the Pods.
Payment should be paid prior to pitching or setting up. Strictly no watercraft allowed on the Park. A £10 deposit is payable for the Key Fob that gives access to the Park and the facilities. This is returned on departure when handed back.
Generators are not permitted unless fitted as standard in Motor Homes. Commercial vehicles are not generally accepted but may be allowed if agreed prior to the visit by management.
For indoor and evening pleasure the Wayside Inn is only a short illuminated walk away. Take away food is available at Caerddaniel Holiday Home Park only a short walk away.
