There is a leisure centre, amusement park and donkey-rides and trampolines on the beach nearer the town. Barmouth is proud to have the European Blue Flag Award for its beach. A small land train travels up and down the promenade, fun for all the family, and the local bus to Barmouth stops very near the site. You can drive down to Dolgellau and back up again to Fairbourne or walk or cycle down the footpath along the old railway line, starting by crossing the famous Barmouth Bridge, from which there are spectacular views of the estuary. Ideal site for bird-watching with a RSPB site at Penmaenpool right on the footpath.
