A small site on the edge of Porthcawl

White Wheat Caravan Site is a one-acre landscaped site on the edge of Porthcawl, laid out level throughout with a mix of grass and hard standing. It has been running for over thirty years and it stays deliberately small, so you are not pitched in a field of two hundred.

What it costs

Pitches start at £27 a night plus electric, covering one car with a caravan or motorhome, two adults and two children under five. Extra adults are £5 a night each and an extra car is £2 a night. Dogs are welcome at £2 a stay and must be kept on a lead. There is a minimum stay of two nights.

On the site

There are 10-amp electric hook-ups, hard standing and grass pitches, lighting throughout and CCTV. The washing block has separate male and female shower cubicles plus unisex toilet and shower facilities, and the showers are metered. Chemical disposal, grey waste emptying and fresh drinking taps are all on site.

Getting into town

Porthcawl is close enough to walk into for the shops, the pubs and the seafront. Rest Bay is the surfing beach, and the Wales National Surf Centre sits above it with lessons, hire and a café. Newton, Pink Bay and Sker take dogs all year; Rest Bay, Sandy Bay and the seafront do not between 1 May and 30 September.
