A striking three-storey luxury house for ten near Llanelli, with a hot tub
Ty Hir is a genuinely impressive, architect-designed modern house at Foelgastell, in the Carmarthenshire countryside a short drive north of Llanelli and Cross Hands. Arranged over three storeys and finished to a very high standard throughout — marble surfaces, herringbone floors, designer kitchens and bathrooms, and a private outdoor hot tub — it is a real head-turner, and a wonderfully indulgent base for a larger family or a group of friends looking for something special. Sleek and contemporary yet warm and comfortable, it puts the beaches, gardens and attractions of Carmarthenshire within easy reach.
Sleeping up to ten across five bedrooms, and welcoming dogs, it is ideal for a big family holiday, a milestone celebration or two or three households sharing in style.
Inside the house
The heart of the house is a spectacular open-plan kitchen, dining and living space, with a striking dark kitchen, a marble-topped island and breakfast bar, and a sitting area with an electric fire and Smart TV, all opening out through bi-fold doors to the garden. There is also a separate study for anyone needing to catch up on work, and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The five bedrooms are beautifully appointed: a top-floor double with an en-suite freestanding bath, two further doubles with en-suite walk-in showers, another double and a twin, served by a family bathroom (with its own freestanding bath) and a stylish cloakroom. Nearly every room has its own designer touches, from feature headboards to marble en-suites. Bed linen, towels, WiFi and heating are all included.

Gardens, beaches and the coast
Foelgastell sits in the green heart of Carmarthenshire, so you have countryside on the doorstep yet plenty within a short drive. Just down the road at Llanarthne is the National Botanic Garden of Wales, with its great glasshouse and British bird of prey centre, while the market town of Carmarthen, with its castle and shops, is close by. For the coast, head south to Llanelli’s Millennium Coastal Park and wetland centre, or on to Pembrey, where Cefn Sidan offers eight miles of golden Blue Flag sand backed by Pembrey Country Park.
The medieval town of Kidwelly, with its castle, is nearby, and the beaches and cliffs of the Gower Peninsula — Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty — are within easy reach, as are the waterfalls and hills of the western Brecon Beacons. With the A48 and M4 close at hand, Ty Hir is a comfortable and characterful base for exploring a genuinely varied part of Wales. You will find more ideas on our Carmarthenshire accommodation pages.
