Inside the cottage

The cottage is arranged as a bright open-plan living space with a crog (gallery) loft above, where the double bed sits — a lovely, characterful way to make the most of a compact building. There is a shower room with WC, and a travel cot can be provided if needed. The fitted kitchen has everything for self-catering, including an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge and a washing machine, plus an iron and ironing board.

Warmth comes from a log-effect electric fire and LPG gas central heating, and bed linen and towels are supplied, so you can arrive and settle straight in. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Outside, there is about half an acre of garden and orchard to enjoy, where free-range hens wander — a genuinely relaxing, away-from-it-all spot. Helpfully, the price includes electricity and gas from April to September (a small supplement applies in the winter months).

It is a genuine get-away-from-it-all sort of place — quiet, rural and unhurried, with the orchard and resident hens giving it a real farmhouse charm.
