A mile from the M4, and quiet
South Wales Touring Park sits on Llwynifan Farm at Llangennech, near Llanelli, one mile from junction 48 of the M4. It is a small, family-run, award-winning park and it is adults only, which is the whole point of it — people book it because they want a quiet week.
The park
It is a member of both Tranquil Parks and Premier Parks, two schemes that inspect for peace and quality rather than for entertainment. The shower rooms are spacious and heated, and there are toilets, dish washing and laundry facilities.
If you have a dog
This is one of the better-equipped parks in Wales for dogs. There is an agility course on site, a secure field to let a dog off the lead in, and a dog shower for after the beach or a muddy walk.
Food and where you are
There is no shop on the park, but fresh food comes to you: a fishmonger usually calls on Thursdays and a fruit and vegetable van on Saturday mornings. Being on the motorway junction means the Gower is about half an hour one way and the National Botanic Garden of Wales about the same the other. Llanelli’s Millennium Coastal Path and the Wetland Centre are both close.
