Between Wrexham and Chester

Rossett’s position is one of its great strengths: it sits roughly six miles from both Wrexham and the historic city of Chester, so you can dip into either in a matter of minutes. Wrexham, the largest town in the north-east and home to the football club whose story has captured the world’s attention, offers shops, markets and the National Trust’s Erddig hall and gardens on its southern edge. Chester, just over the border, brings its famous Roman walls, the Rows shopping galleries, the racecourse and Chester Zoo.

The village itself is quietly attractive, set among the water meadows of the River Alyn, and makes a peaceful spot to return to after a day out.
