Porthkerry Leisure Park

On the coast west of Cardiff

Porthkerry Leisure Park sits on the coast of the Vale of Glamorgan, just west of Cardiff and a short way from Barry. It is a family and dog-friendly park, and the pitches look south over the Bristol Channel towards the north Devon coast.

The park lets holiday caravans in several grades, from the plainer ones through to the larger models with more space and better fittings. It is part of Vale Holiday Parks, who run fourteen parks across Wales, Devon and Cornwall.

Getting there and getting about

Porthkerry is under twenty-five minutes’ drive from the M4, and Cardiff Airport is closer still. That makes it one of the easier parks in Wales to reach without a long final stretch of lane. Cardiff city centre is a short drive for the castle, the stadium and the shops.

What is nearby

Porthkerry Country Park is next door, 220 acres of meadow and woodland running down to a pebble beach, with the railway viaduct striding across the valley above it. Barry Island Pleasure Park is a few minutes away. The Glamorganshire Golf Club at Penarth is where the Stableford scoring system was invented, and it is still played that way worldwide.
