Woodland on one side, eight miles of sand on the other
Pembrey Country Park runs its own campsite in the woods behind Cefn Sidan, and the beach is a walk through the trees rather than a drive. Cefn Sidan is eight miles long and holds a Blue Flag, the award for clean sea, safety and good management. It was the first beach in Wales ever to be given one.
Pitches and pods
There are 320 grass pitches: non-electric, pay-as-you-go electric, and fully serviced. A non-electric pitch is £25 off-peak and £28 peak; electric is £27 and £30; fully serviced is £32 and £36. Camping pods are £80 and £100. The price covers one sleeping unit and one vehicle, up to two adults and four children, and up to three dogs.
Times and rules
Arrive between 2pm and 8pm — there is no check-in after 8pm — and pitches are vacated by noon. It is run as a family site, so no more than three pitches may be booked together, and nobody under 18 can stay without an adult. Peak runs 1 April to 2 September; off-peak is March, then September to the end of October.
What is in the park
You can spend the whole stay without moving the car. There is a dry ski slope with a toboggan run, crazy golf, cycle hire, a café and a visitor centre, and the All Wales Coast Path goes through. RNLI lifeguards patrol Cefn Sidan at weekends, and every day from 4 July. At the northern end the ribs of old wrecks still show through the sand at low tide.

Good to know
What time can I arrive? Between 2pm and 8pm. There is no check-in after 8pm.
Can we book as a group? Only up to three pitches together. It is run as a family site.
Are dogs allowed? Yes, up to three on a pitch.
Is the beach lifeguarded? RNLI lifeguards cover Cefn Sidan at weekends, and daily from 4 July.
Is there anything to do if it rains? The dry ski slope, the toboggan run and the café are all inside the park.
