A Spacious Former Chapel for Fourteen near Merthyr Tydfil

Parc House is a characterful former chapel, beautifully converted into a spacious detached holiday home at Abertysswg near Merthyr Tydfil, in the heart of the South Wales valleys. Sleeping up to fourteen across five bedrooms, dog-friendly and brilliantly placed for Bike Park Wales and the Brecon Beacons, it is ideal for large family gatherings, group holidays and special occasions — with plenty of room for everyone and the mountains on the doorstep.

Charming, Spacious and Family-Friendly

Restored to a high standard, the chapel keeps its character — ornate cornicing, tall arched windows and generous proportions — while offering relaxed, comfortable living. There are two sitting rooms with leather chesterfield sofas (one with a baby grand piano), a separate dining room seating the whole party, and a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. The five bedrooms sleep up to fourteen in a flexible mix of doubles and singles, three of them en-suite, served by three bathrooms. Gas central heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with an Xbox, children’s toys and books, a travel cot, highchair and welcome pack.

A Brilliant Base for Mountain Biking

Parc House is made for active breaks. Bike Park Wales — one of the biggest bike parks in Europe — is around 20 minutes away, and Afan Forest Park is rated in the world’s top ten for mountain biking. The house has a large lockable bike store and an outdoor tap to wash the bikes down. There is a garden with a patio and sitting-out area, private parking for two cars (with on-road parking too), and dogs stay free. The house is no-smoking throughout.

Made for Big Family Gatherings

With room for fourteen, two lounges and a proper dining room, Parc House is built for celebrations and reunions. After a day on the trails, in the hills or out exploring, there is space for everyone to spread out or come together — and plenty to keep children happy, with the Xbox, toys and books on hand.
