Manor Parc Hotel

Manor Parc is a country manor of 1850 standing in its own grounds on Thornhill Road, four miles north of the middle of Cardiff. There are 25 rooms, and the restaurant sits under a glass dome. It is close enough to the city for a match or a meeting and far enough out to be quiet.

Thornhill is where the ground begins to rise north of Cardiff, so the house looks back over the city with open country behind it. The building went up in 1850 and keeps its entrance hall and oak lounge. The M4 is a few minutes north and the city centre fifteen minutes south.

Getting about from Thornhill

The city centre and the Principality Stadium are about fifteen minutes south, and Cardiff Bay a little further. Going the other way, Castell Coch — the Victorian fairytale rebuild in the woods above Tongwynlais — is five minutes up the road, and Caerphilly and its moated castle about fifteen. The M4 is close enough to make this an easy first or last night of a trip.
