A luxury coastal retreat with a private hot tub, moments from Llandanwg beach
Goppa is a beautifully finished detached holiday cottage in the little coastal village of Llandanwg, on the western edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) where the mountains tumble down to the sands of Cardigan Bay. Sleeping six across three double bedrooms, it pairs a smart, contemporary interior with a genuinely special setting — the wide beach at Llandanwg is a short stroll away, and the medieval grandeur of Harlech Castle stands a couple of miles up the coast. With its own private hot tub and an enclosed garden, it makes an easy, relaxed choice for families, two couples sharing, or anyone after a coastal base with the hills right on the doorstep.
The cottage
Inside, the open-plan living space is bright and welcoming, with a woodburner for cooler evenings, a smart TV and a generous seating area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher and even a coffee machine, so cooking for a group is no chore. The three double bedrooms are well proportioned and comfortably furnished, the third with its own en-suite, and there are two bathrooms in total. Bed linen and towels are provided as standard, and a cot and highchair are available on request, making life easier for those travelling with little ones.
The garden & private hot tub
The enclosed garden is made for unwinding after a day on the beach or the hills: a private hot tub seating up to five, a comfortable sitting area, garden furniture and a gas barbecue for long, light summer evenings. There is private parking for two cars and — a thoughtful touch still hard to find in this corner of Wales — an electric-vehicle charging point. Up to two dogs are welcome (a small charge applies), so the whole family, four-legged members included, can come along.

Llandanwg & the beach
Llandanwg is a quiet gem on the Cardigan Bay coast. Its sandy beach is backed by dunes, with the tiny medieval church of St Tanwg half-buried in the sand right behind it — one of the most atmospheric little churches in Wales. The water is popular for paddling, swimming and watersports through the summer, and the views across the bay to the Llŷn Peninsula are glorious at sunset. It is the kind of beach where children can happily spend a whole day, and you are never far from a coffee or an ice cream.
Exploring Harlech & southern Snowdonia
Just up the coast, Harlech is crowned by its UNESCO World Heritage castle, perched dramatically above the dunes with the mountains of Eryri rising behind. From here the whole of southern Snowdonia opens up: the Italianate village of Portmeirion, the steam trains of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, and a wealth of walks from gentle coastal paths to the high peaks around Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). The Llŷn Peninsula, with its string of beaches and pretty harbour villages, is an easy and scenic drive away, and the market towns of Dolgellau and Porthmadog are close by for shops, cafes and a bite to eat.
