A welcoming glamping lodge for two near Llanelli, with its own wood-fired hot tub

Glyn-Sylen Lodge 1 is a charming, self-contained glamping lodge set on a peaceful hillside at Glyn-Sylen, in the green Carmarthenshire countryside a short drive north of Llanelli. With its distinctive curved roof, warm pine-clad interior and — best of all — its own private wood-fired hot tub, it is a wonderfully romantic little retreat for a couple wanting to switch off, soak under the stars and enjoy some proper peace and quiet. There is a fire pit for cooler evenings, open countryside all around, and the beaches and attractions of the coast within easy reach.

Sleeping two, and welcoming up to two well-behaved dogs, it is ideal for a romantic escape, an anniversary treat or a relaxing few days away from it all.

Inside the lodge

The lodge is cleverly designed to make the most of its compact, studio-style space. A comfortable double bed sits alongside a neat sitting area with a sofa, and there is a well-equipped little kitchen with an oven and gas hob, microwave and fridge-freezer, plus a dining table for two — everything you need to cook and relax in. A cloakroom with a basin and WC completes the layout, and WiFi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included, so you can simply arrive and unwind.

The real magic, though, is outside: your own wood-fired hot tub on the terrace, a fire pit for toasting marshmallows, and long views over the surrounding hills.

A peaceful base near the coast

Glyn-Sylen sits in the gentle, rolling country between the Gwendraeth and Loughor valleys, so the setting is all about tranquillity — birdsong, big skies and quiet lanes for walking. Yet you are far from cut off: the Carmarthenshire coast is only a short drive away, with Llanelli’s Millennium Coastal Park, wetland centre and Machynys golf to the south, and the long Blue Flag sands of Cefn Sidan at Pembrey, backed by Pembrey Country Park, a little beyond.

The medieval town of Kidwelly, with its castle and estuary, is close by, and there is plenty more within reach for day trips — the market town of Carmarthen, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, and the beaches and cliffs of the Gower Peninsula, Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. After a day exploring, there are few nicer ways to end it than easing into a warm hot tub as the sun goes down over the hills. You will find more ideas on our Carmarthenshire accommodation pages.

Good to know

The lodge is compact and designed for two, making it a genuinely intimate retreat rather than a spot for a big group. The wood-fired hot tub is a real highlight and is ready for use during your stay. With off-road parking, a fire pit and everything included, it is an easy, unhurried place to relax — just remember that as a rural glamping lodge, part of its charm is being tucked away from it all.
