Run by the same family for three generations

Erwlon Caravan & Camping Park is on the edge of Llandovery, run alongside the family’s dairy farm and now in its third generation. It sits between the Brecon Beacons and the Tywi valley, which makes it a base for walking, cycling and mountain biking as much as for touring.

Pitches

The fully serviced super-pitches come with hard standing, an electric hook-up, a tap of your own and grey waste discharge, so you are not walking across a field with a container. There are separate adults-only and family areas on the site, so a couple wanting quiet and a family with small children are not pitched next to each other.

Facilities

The amenity block is heated, and there are family rooms — a bathroom to yourselves, which helps with young children and with anyone who needs a hand. Wi-Fi covers the park.

Riverside Pods

Erwlon also runs Riverside Pods for glamping, for anyone arriving without a caravan or a tent.

Llandovery

Llandovery is a small market town with a cobbled square, and a stainless steel statue twelve feet high on the castle mound. It has no face. It is Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan, a local man executed here in 1401 for sending Henry IV’s army the wrong way rather than betray Owain Glyndŵr. The town is on the Heart of Wales railway line, one of the prettiest branch lines left in Britain.
