Bathrooms have a bath or a shower, with linen, towels and a hairdryer provided. All the bedrooms are non-smoking, and dogs are allowed.

The Bar and the Lodge

The bar is the social centre of the hotel: a pool table, a dartboard and live sport shown every day, which after a wet day on the Carneddau is not to be sniffed at. There is a function room too, laid up for events and larger gatherings. Alongside the hotel rooms, the property also has self-catering lodge accommodation with its own kitchen and a sitting room with a wood burner, which suits families and longer stays who want to cook for themselves. The Conwy Valley and Surf Snowdonia

Adventure Parc Snowdonia and its inland surf lagoon are less than a mile and a half down the road at Dolgarrog — close enough to walk to on a decent day, and one of the few places in the world you can surf a reliable wave in a mountain valley. Bodnant Garden, one of the finest gardens in Britain, is a short drive north up the valley. The village itself is a good starting point for walking straight into the Carneddau, the biggest area of high ground in Wales and much quieter than the paths around Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Conwy, the Coast and Zip World

The walled town of Conwy, with its castle, its complete circuit of medieval walls and the quay, is a ten-minute drive down the valley, and Llandudno and the Great Orme are a little further on the coast. Inland, Betws-y-Coed and the Swallow Falls are close by, and Zip World and Bounce Below — the zip lines and underground trampolines in the old slate caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog — are a little under forty minutes away. Horse riding and hiking can be arranged, and there is a golf course within a couple of miles.
