A characterful cottage in the heart of historic Beaumaris
The Coach House sits right in the middle of Beaumaris, the handsome castle town on the eastern shore of Anglesey, just seconds from the waterfront of the Menai Strait. Sleeping four across two bedrooms, it is an ideal base for a couple or a small family who want to step straight out of the door into one of North Wales’s most appealing little towns, with its shops, pubs, restaurants and UNESCO World Heritage castle all within a short stroll.
The cottage
Inside there are two bedrooms — one double and one twin — sleeping up to four, with a bathroom that has a shower over the bath. The open-plan living and kitchen area is well equipped for self-catering, with a dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer, and a television with streaming. An electric fire adds a welcoming touch on cooler evenings. Families travelling with little ones will appreciate the travel cot and high chair that are available, and there is a gravelled outdoor area with a table and chairs for morning coffee or an evening drink.
Location and parking
The great appeal of The Coach House is just how central it is: the shops, pubs and restaurants of Beaumaris are roughly a hundred metres away, and the seafront is, as the owners put it, about thirty seconds on foot. Do note that there is no allocated parking with the cottage — guests use the nearby streets or buy a weekly permit (around £50) for the Green car park on the seafront. For a town this walkable, many guests happily park up and leave the car for the week. The cottage is not suitable for pets.

Beaumaris and the Anglesey coast
Beaumaris is one of the most photogenic towns in Wales, strung along the Menai Strait with the peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) rising across the water. Its Edward I castle is a World Heritage Site, the Victorian gaol and courthouse make an atmospheric visit, and the pier is the place to watch the boats and catch a sea-fishing or wildlife trip out towards Puffin Island. Beyond the town, the Anglesey Coastal Path, Penmon Point and the island’s celebrated beaches at Benllech and Lligwy are all an easy drive. Days out from the cottage
With The Coach House as your base, the whole of Anglesey and the edge of the mainland open up. Spend a morning exploring Beaumaris Castle and the gaol, then drive out to Penmon Point to look across to Puffin Island and the Trwyn Du lighthouse. The sandy beaches at Benllech, Lligwy and Red Wharf Bay are all a short hop, and the fishing village of Moelfre with its Seawatch Centre makes an easy afternoon. Across the strait, the mountains, lakes and steam railways of Eryri (Snowdonia) are within half an hour, so you can mix beach days with hill days as the weather suits.
