A Sea-View Cottage at Llangennith, Gower

Brynymor Cottage enjoys a wonderful position at Llangennith, on the glorious north-western tip of the Gower Peninsula — the first place in Britain to be named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cleverly arranged so that the main living space is upstairs to make the most of the sublime views, this comfortable cottage sleeps five and sits just 800 yards from the beach, with the great sweep of Rhossili Bay and the dunes of Llangennith laid out below. With a sunny terrace, a sheltered garden and a summerhouse, it is a lovely spot for a family seaside holiday or a surfing getaway on one of the finest stretches of coast in Wales.

The Cottage

Brynymor makes the most of its setting. Upstairs, the living room has comfortable sofas, a gas stove and a television, and opens through doors onto the terrace with its far-reaching sea views; there is also a separate dining room, a second kitchen area, and a snug corner to relax in. On the ground floor is the main kitchen, well equipped with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bed linen and towels are included, and Wi-Fi is available (for a small charge). A cot, highchair and stairgate are provided for younger guests.

The Bedrooms

There are three bedrooms sleeping five. The main bedroom has a kingsize bed and its own en-suite shower room; there is a twin room with two single beds, and a further single bedroom — several rooms enjoy those lovely coastal views. A family bathroom with a bath and shower over completes the accommodation.

Llangennith and Rhossili Bay

Llangennith sits at the northern end of Rhossili Bay, a spectacular three-mile sweep of golden sand that is regularly voted one of the best beaches in Britain. It is a magnet for surfers, walkers and families alike, with the dramatic headland of Worm’s Head at its far end and the great whaleback ridge of Rhossili Down rising behind. The village itself has a welcoming pub and is the gateway to the wilder western Gower — a short stroll or drive brings you to the sands, and the Wales Coast Path runs right along this glorious shoreline.

Exploring the Gower

The whole Gower Peninsula is a joy to explore. Beyond Rhossili you will find the beautiful bays of Broughton, Oxwich and Port Eynon, the celebrated Three Cliffs Bay, and countless coves, cliffs and castles in between. It is superb walking and watersports country, from surfing and kayaking to coasteering and clifftop rambles. The seaside town of Mumbles and the city of Swansea, with its shops, museums and the Gower Heritage Centre nearby, are all within easy reach for a change of pace.
