Things to do nearby
Tregarth’s position is a real winner. The mountains of Eryri begin almost at the door — the dramatic Ogwen Valley, Llyn Ogwen and the Carneddau are a short drive away for some of the best walking in Wales, and the slate-and-adventure village of Bethesda, home to Zip World Penrhyn Quarry, is just three miles off. The magnificent Penrhyn Castle, a National Trust mansion in vast grounds, sits between the village and Bangor. The cathedral city of Bangor, with its university, high street, Victorian pier and the Menai Strait, is four and a half miles away, and just beyond it Telford’s suspension bridge crosses to the Isle of Anglesey. Caernarfon and its world-famous castle are a short drive in the other direction.
Who it suits
With three bath/shower rooms and a ground-floor shower room, Bronfa is comfortable for a family or group, and the bunk room is great for children. The location suits walkers, adventurers and sightseers alike — climb a mountain, zip down a quarry, explore a castle or relax by the woodburner. As it does not accept pets, it best suits guests holidaying without a dog.
