Comfortable living for a couple

The lodge sleeps two in a single bedroom furnished with a double bed, with an electric blanket provided for cooler evenings. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower, a basin and a WC. The open-plan living area is warmed by an electric fire, and a portable oil-filled heater is on hand for extra comfort out of season. For relaxing indoors there is a television with FreeSat and a DVD player, along with free Wi-Fi throughout — handy if you want to stream an evening film, plan the next day’s walk or simply stay in touch with home.

A well-equipped kitchen

The kitchen is fitted with an electric cooker and a two-ring hob, a microwave, a fridge, a kettle and a toaster — enough to put together a proper breakfast or cook an evening meal after a day in the hills. As a self-catering lodge it suits couples who like the freedom of cooking for themselves, eating when they please and coming and going to their own plans rather than a hotel’s timetable.

Decking, garden and parking

Outside, a private decking area comes with sun loungers and a picnic table, and there is a gas barbecue and a lawn — a lovely spot to sit out with the valley views on a fine evening. Off-road parking for two cars is provided roughly fifty yards from the lodge. Please note that the lodge is reached by a few steps from the parking area, so it is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. It is a no-smoking property, and pets are not accepted.
