A Luxury Headland House with Sea Views at Cemaes Bay

Angorfa commands an unparalleled position on a scenic headland at Cemaes Bay, on the beautiful north coast of Anglesey, with stunning sea views on three sides and its own stretch of private coastline. Sleeping fourteen across seven bedrooms and welcoming dogs, it is a superb base for a large family gathering, a special celebration or a get-together with friends — somewhere everyone can be together with the sea quite literally at the bottom of the garden.

The house

Angorfa has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms (a mix of en-suites plus a ground-floor bathroom), sleeping up to fourteen in spacious, well-appointed comfort. The main sitting room makes the most of the panoramic view over the bay, and there is a woodburning stove for relaxed evenings in. The kitchen is superbly equipped for catering for a crowd, with a double oven, a five-ring gas hob, two freezers, a wine cooler, a dishwasher and a breakfast bar, plus a handy utility room. A cot and highchair are available, so younger family members are catered for too.

The setting

The headland setting is the real showstopper. With sea views on three sides, direct beach access and a private stretch of coastline, the house feels gloriously remote yet sits within easy reach of the village. There is a large walled garden with a barbecue — a wonderful spot for outdoor dining on a fine evening — and guests even have free use of kayaks to explore the bay. Off-road parking for six cars makes arrivals easy for a big group, and two well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Cemaes and the north coast

Cemaes is Anglesey’s most northerly village, a pretty place built around a sheltered harbour with sandy beaches close by and the Anglesey Coastal Path passing right through. Nearby stands the ancient cliff-top church of Llanbadrig, traditionally founded by St Patrick, in a spectacular setting. The whole stretch of coast is wonderfully unspoilt, with rocky coves, sea birds and big skies. For more on the area and other places to stay, see our guide to Cemaes Bay accommodation.

Exploring Anglesey

From Angorfa the rest of the island is easily explored. The port town of Amlwch and its industrial-heritage harbour lie just along the coast, the nature reserve and shingle beach at Cemlyn Bay, with its tern colony, is a short drive away, and the Anglesey Coastal Path offers superb walking in both directions. Further afield, the historic town of Beaumaris, the beaches of the east coast and the bridges over the Menai Strait are all within reach for a varied family week.

Good to know

A house that sleeps fourteen with its own private coastline is a genuine rarity, and it makes Angorfa ideal for the kind of occasion where an extended family or a big group of friends want to be together in real comfort — a milestone birthday, a family reunion or a special summer gathering. The free kayaks, the walled garden with its barbecue and the woodburner give it a sense of occasion that an ordinary holiday let cannot match, while the well-equipped kitchen and ample parking handle the practicalities of a crowd. Anglesey’s north coast is dramatic and unspoilt, at its most beautiful in the long light of summer evenings, and waking to sea views on three sides is something guests remember long after they leave.
