The Stables Cottage - Fishguard
Our Fishguard cottage; The Stables is a converted from a traditional Pembrokeshire long barn set in 70 acres of its own coastal farmland. It enjoys panoramic sea views across the Irish sea from Fishguard Bay to Dinas Head
The Stables Holiday Cottage Sleeps 6
The West Wales location of the holiday cottage at Fishguard is the perfect spot for a family holiday as it safe from traffic, private, there are acres of space for children to play and it is perfectly positioned for exploring the wonderful beaches and coves.
The cottage is also a great base for walkers eager to explore the famous Pembrokeshire coastal path and the Preseli mountains. With its own beach just minutes across the fields it is also ideal for those who just want to chill out for a bit. On most days of the year, you'll have the beach all to yourself.
All rooms in the Stables have great views. The Living room faces the sea and the bedrooms and south facing conservatory look up over the Preseli hills from Carningli to Garn Fawr.
There are loads of places to sit and watch nature or chill out with a glass of wine. The Pergola outdoor eating area faces south and west and commands wonderful views up the mountains and across Fishguard Bay.
The Holiday Cottage has central heating and is well insulated. There are wood burning stoves in the living room and conservatory making it warm and cosy in the winter. We provide one free basket of wood and then ask visitors to pay for any extra baskets. The wood is sustainably grown seasoned ash.
All the land surrounding this Pembrokeshire Holiday cottage is our farmland and visitors are free to walk through the fields to the beach and coastal path.
The Stables is the only holiday cottage at the farm and visitors are encouraged to roam around the farm at their free will. The Stables also has it's own entrance and is positioned away from the other farm buildings giving extra privacy.
There are lots of places for children to explore and there is a basketball net in the yard. Johny, the farm's caretaker, lives in the coach house and is always around to help with directions and to hand over keys etc.
The Stables is surrounded by sheep most of the year and in the spring there will be lambs staring in through the windows. We don't allow dogs because of the sheep.
The self-catering cottage is only 15 minutes walk to the village of Dinas for supplies, pub and fish and chip shop. It's just a 10-minute walk down the coastal path to The Old Sailors Inn at Pwllgwaelod Beach.
There is loads of space for parking but please note the farm track is a bit rough and low slung sports cars may have a problem !
Please also note that we like to let the hedgerows and verges grow in the summer in order to encourage the wild flowers and increase biodiversity. If it's short neat lawns you are after Ffynnonofi is not the place for you !
