Telford House is really one of a kind when it comes to large and luxurious coastal holiday rentals. The holiday home is nestled in an elevated position with mature gardens overlooking the tidal waters of the Menai Straits with sea views.
This stunning holiday house is a stones throw from the magnificent, Menai Suspension Bridge built by Thomas Telford and once the only bridge onto Anglesey, dominates the view from the Bangor mainland to the Isle of Anglesey. With unrivalled coastal views from every window in the front in the house, Telford House also provides fashionable living space.
The property consists of seven huge bedrooms, and all guests are provided with bathrobes, for discerning good friends and families alike. This luxury Menai Straits cottage has a spacious dining space with open fire and panoramic sea views, where you may socialise and all dine collectively about a lengthy table with seating for 16.
We recommend the children commandeer the drawing room, while adults grab the significant sitting area with living-flame gas fire and generous comfy sofas the annexed glass sun terrace may be an excellent spot to sit and appreciate a cup of coffee or something a little stronger while reading the papers or just watching the continuous boating activity around the swirling tidal waters of the Straits.
For those more energetic members of the group, the cottage also houses a running machine, where you can exercise whilst watching the altering moods on the water.
A completely fitted kitchen with breakfast bar, granite work surface and two sinks gives all the space you will need for your self-catering requirements, in addition to a devoted workplace the north Wales cottage also provides, free WiFi, residence gym, drying room, reading area and a piano in the music room. Outdoors, the landscaped gardens stretch along the banks of the Straits at the waters edge, presenting terrific opportunities for walking, exploring and fishing.
The patio area extends along the whole front of the cottage, and goes without saying is excellent for outdoors entertaining. Telford cottage retains quite a few original Victorian characteristics, which include sash windows, higher ceilings and French radiators as fashionable art deco and period furnishings, making it an excellent and unique holiday rental to escape from day-to-day life and relax in luxury with friends and family.

1st Floor: Reading area. one king-size double with dressing area, TV and en-suite bathroom with double shower, wash basin and toilet, one super king-size double bedded room, one king-size double, one double, one twin, one king-size double with en-suite bathroom and shower wash basin and toilet. Stairs to 2nd floor mezzanine with one super king-size double room with shared use of en-suite bathroom with bath, hand-held shower, wash basin, bidet and toilet Ground floor basin and WC.
Gas central heating throughout with under-floor heating in kitchen, open fire in dining room, living flame gas fires in lounge/drawing rooms. Gas oven with six ring hob, microwave oven, fridge/freezer and ice dispenser, auto washing machine and dishwasher, 4 x flat screen TVs (two with Sky and Sky Sports), DVD, CD/radio, free Wi-Fi, good selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel and energy included in the rental as are towels, bed linen, bathrobes and slippers. A childs cot, highchair and fireguard. There is ample private parking for up to eight vehicles opposite this north Wales cottage, also a lovely large private garden, with patio furniture and BBQ, ideal for outdoor living. Two well-behaved pet dogs are welcome. Sorry, strictly no smoking. Shops, supermarket (Waitrose) a few minutes walk across the bridge, pub with restaurant two minutes walk. The Mainland town of Bangor inc. train station is.6 miles while Menai Bridge Village is just a short walk over the bridge.
Please Note: The top floor bedroom has sloping ceilings and bed is accessed from the bottom. There is a low door to the basement. The terraced garden leads to the Straits therefore children should be supervised at all times while staying at this North Wales Cottage.
Activities and Adventures
The Menai Strait is a stretch of tidal water separating the Isle of Anglesey from the mainland of north Wales. Staying on the shores for holidays and short breaks can be a real treat, the sea is quite often a brilliant blue colour, and you can see stunning sunsets. The tidal waters are crossed by two bridges, the menai Suspension Bridge and the Britannia road and rail bridge allowing easy access to the wonderful attractions of Anglesey.. The historic town and castle at Beaumaris make a super day out, while there you can catch a boat and enjoy a trip out to Puffin Island or go sea fishing from the Pier. The Anglesey footpath that circles the Island takes in breathtaking coastal scenery, and Anglesey is home to many superb sandy beaches including Rhosneigr, Benllech Bay, Red Wharf Bay and Trearddur Bay. The National Trust mansion Plas Newydd is worthy of a visit whilst on the island, while the NT properties of Penrhyn Castle at Bangor and Bodnant Gardens in the Conwy Valley are just waiting to be explored on the mainland. Snowdonias spectacular lakes and mountains are just a short distance way, with plenty historic castles, sandy beaches, activities and attractions on offer.
