Mediaeval Banquets in Wales or Chester...
The first themed mediaeval banquets in Britain were held at Ruthin Castle more than 30 years ago and the long tradition continues. Fully costumed Ladies of the Court and Court Steward entertain, sing, jest and lead the evening's feasting with dagger and fingers... accompanied by mead from clay cups and wine in pewter goblets. Guests can also wear costume if they choose and the setting has found favour for many themed mediaeval wedding banquets and conference groups.
The castle has a proud, centuries-old tradition of providing hospitality and comfort including hosting numerous Royal guests. It is difficult not just to feel welcome but also to feel part of the great history of the castle and those that have come before - see our Royal Heritage page for more information about the history of Ruthin Castle.
