Penpentre Holidays

Pen Pentre Self-Catering or B&B Accommodation
Sleeps up to 10
The two cottages at Pen Pentre sit just outside the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, in Llanfihangel-Nant-Bran. This idyllic spot sits at the heart of the unspoiled Bran valley and makes the ideal base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons, as well as the charming towns of Brecon, Llandovery, and Abergavenny.
Both of the cottages have been carefully converted from stone buildings that once formed part of the Pen Pentre farm. The Malt House offers stylish and comfortable five-star accommodation for up to five guests, with a double room with en-suite and a second bedroom with twin beds and a third guest bed on request. The main bathroom has a power shower, and all towels and linen are provided. Downstairs, there are oak floors throughout, and the modern kitchen and utility area has everything needed for a pleasant and enjoyable self-catering stay.
The Granary is a flat adjoining the main Pen Pentre farmhouse, and it provides four star accommodation for two to five guests. Accessed by an exterior stone staircase, the flat offers two bedrooms, with one containing a double and a single bed, and the second containing twin beds. The sitting room and kitchen have an open-plan layout, and all facilities and equipment are provided, including cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and coffee maker.
One of the most delightful features of the Pen Pentre cottages is that guests can choose to stay on a bed and breakfast basis, if they wish. Whilst enjoying all of the convenience of self-catering for lunches and evening meals, guests can start the day off perfectly with a home-cooked breakfast of the finest local produce, prepared to order by the hosts. Of course, if the thought of cooking doesnt appeal every evening, guests can also enjoy delicious, freshly-prepared meals in one of several local pubs and restaurants.
The vast, open landscape of the Brecon Beacons is simply breathtaking, and guests can be out on a hike within minutes from the Pen Pentre Cottages. Whether you choose to conquer Pen y Fan, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons, or you opt for a more leisurely stroll along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, there is a walk for all abilities and all ages, just waiting to be discovered. The towns of Brecon and Llandovery are great for a leisurely wander, or afternoon tea, and a little further afield, Abergavenny is a delight for foodies, especially during the annual food festival in September.
Wildlife lovers will enjoy a trip to the Red Kite Centre, at Llanddeusant, where scores of red kites can be observed at close range, as well as buzzards, ravens and other birds. Other wildlife attractions include the Cwm Clydach National Nature Reserve and the Craig Cerrig-Gleisiad a Fan Frynych National Nature Reserve.
The Brecon Beacons is one of the most stunning places in Wales, with scenery and wildlife that is truly magical, and the holiday cottages at Pen Pentre make the perfect base for exploring this exceptional region. From a romantic and cosy weekend for a couple, to a fun-filled family holiday that takes in the great outdoors in all of its spectacular glory, this is one area that is not to be missed!
