Newport Food Festival 2026

Newport Food Festival returns to Newport city centre on 3 October 2026, celebrating the best of South Wales food and drink in one of the region’s most rapidly changing cities. The festival gathers independent producers, food businesses and local restaurants to showcase Welsh artisan food alongside street food from across the region.

The one-day event features hundreds of stalls ranging from traditional Welsh produce — including lamb, beef, cheese, honey and preserves — to artisan bread, street food and locally made drinks. Cooking demonstrations and chef-led tastings run throughout the day, and the city centre setting makes it easy to combine a visit with exploring Newport’s growing independent food and drink scene.

Newport has undergone significant regeneration in recent years, with a thriving independent restaurant and café quarter, a revitalised city centre market, and strong transport connections making it increasingly attractive as a destination. The city’s position between Cardiff and the Severn Estuary also gives it quick access to the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons.

Newport is well connected by rail, with frequent services from Cardiff, Bristol and London. A range of accommodation is available in the city centre and surrounding areas, including hotels, guesthouses and self-catering options across Monmouthshire and the neighbouring Wye Valley.
