IRONMAN Wales 2026

IRONMAN Wales 2026 returns to Tenby on 13 September — one of the most dramatic full-distance triathlons on the European circuit. The event starts and finishes in the heart of the medieval walled town, with the iconic sea swim taking place in Tenby’s sheltered North Beach harbour before competitors head out on a 112-mile cycle through the Pembrokeshire countryside and Preseli Hills.

The run leg covers 26.2 miles along the Pembrokeshire coast and through the streets of Tenby, where the combination of steep hills and roaring crowd support has made this finish line one of the most celebrated in triathlon. First held in Tenby in 2011, IRONMAN Wales has built a reputation for stunning scenery, challenging terrain and a uniquely warm Welsh welcome.

Whether you’re competing, supporting or simply spectating, Tenby during IRONMAN weekend is a remarkable experience. The town fills with athletes and supporters from around the world, and the atmosphere along the run course — particularly through the old town walls — is electric.

Accommodation in Tenby and across Pembrokeshire books up quickly for IRONMAN weekend. If you’re travelling to support a competitor or planning to watch the race, book your stay as early as possible — the nearby towns of Saundersfoot, Narberth and Pembroke Dock are good alternatives if Tenby itself is full.
