Great British Food Festival 2026 — Margam Park

The Great British Food Festival returns to Margam Country Park on the August Bank Holiday weekend, running from Saturday 29 to Monday 31 August 2026. Set against the backdrop of the Victorian Gothic Margam Castle and the park’s sweeping grounds, the festival is one of the most handsome settings for a food event in Wales — and the Bank Holiday timing makes it a natural centrepiece for a South Wales late-summer break.

The festival fills the grounds with street food traders, artisan producers, and local food and drink makers, with a strong emphasis on quality, independent businesses. Each day runs from 10:30am, with live music, cookery demonstrations, and a dedicated kids’ area making it a genuinely full-day outing for families as well as committed food lovers. Adult tickets are priced individually per day; children under five enter free, and family tickets cover two adults and two children.

Margam Country Park itself is one of South Wales’s finest green spaces — 850 acres of parkland with formal gardens, an orangery, a deer herd and the ruins of a Cistercian abbey alongside the castle. Port Talbot lies immediately to the south, and the M4 corridor puts Swansea (12 miles west) and Cardiff (35 miles east) both within easy reach for the weekend.

Accommodation options in the Margam and Port Talbot area include guesthouses and B&Bs in Neath, Swansea and the Vale of Glamorgan. Camping is not available within the park, but visitors combining the festival with a wider South Wales break will find a good range of places to stay across the region.
