With the only national park in Britain designated mainly for its coast, and a string of dog-friendly beaches, Pembrokeshire is made for a holiday with a dog. Many Pembrokeshire beaches welcome dogs year-round, and others outside the summer restrictions — Newgale, Freshwater West and stretches around St Davids among them. Always check the local signs in peak season.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs for 186 miles around the county, with dramatic cliffs, coves and wildlife — superb walking with a dog, kept on the lead near the cliff edges and livestock.
