The Shack - Yr Shack

The Shack - Yr Shack has a 5 star rating
Aberporth, Cardigan, Ceredigion, Wales, UK, SA43 2DA

The Shack Sleeps 4 and is beautifully modernised, with a large, private garden.

It now sleeps 4 and has 2 en-suite bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin. It has a large, well equipped, sunny kitchen/diner/lounge with a patio, and another comfortable lounge with a TV for those who are feeling a bit anti-social.

Outside, to the front, there is a shrubbery with a mixture of flowering bushes, and to the rear is there is a private garden area with a good sized lawn and patio, a barbeque, and a shed for your beach stuff.

The cottage is all on one level, making it particularly suitable for wheelchair users. It is 50m from the top of the beach.

The well-furnished lounge and the two en-suite bedrooms are all on the same level.

Entrance

There is a level, surfaced path from our private road to the accessible front door. Inside there is a small hallway with coat hooks, a bench, and room for your wellies. Off to the left, there is a utility room with WC, washbasin and washing machine.

Kitchen

The entrance hall then leads on to the Open Plan Kitchen; this has a central island with electric hotplate with hood above and a marble serving/preparation area; along one side there is a sink, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and good sized fridge/freezer.

Dining Area

The kitchen then leads off to the dining area where there is a table and generous seating for six.

The well-furnished lounge and the two en-suite bedrooms are all on the same level.

Outside

Through the sliding doors are the patio and barbeque area with tables, chairs, plant pots etc, and a warm shower for when you come back from the beach.

The sunny patio and lawned areas are surrounded by a (reasonably) child and dog proof fence (but no guarantees offered!). The Car Parking area and the main access to the road are outside the fenced area.

A little bit of history

This Bungalow / Cottage is on the same private road as our other houses. The original shack, a small shed, was put here by Janns grandfather at the end of the 1920s as a place to stay when he came down from Cross Hands to do some fishing. Over the years the site has been added to, improved and modernised.

Some years ago, in the way properties do, the Shack went out of the family but, fortunately, we have now been able to buy it back. The house was somewhat run down and in need of some severe TLC. The house has now been given a complete makeover.
