The West House
The West House Country Hotel is situated close to Cardiff, Bridgend and Cowbridge in the charming Vale of Glamorgan, in the ancient historic village of Llantwit Major, is an exclusive, converted 17th Century Country House with a rich history and heritage typical of the area.
The West House is a small, superbly equipped Country Hotel that caters for discerning customers who would rather spend time in a hotel which is 'home away from home'. You will find our staff friendly, helpful and a wealth of information. We offer a unique personal level of service which our guests love and this is why we have a return rate of guests far, far higher than most hotels in the UK!
Where are we?
We are in Llantwit Major which is around 25 minutes from Cardiff, 15 minutes from Bridgend and 5 minutes from Cowbridge. Unless you absolutely positively HAVE to stay in the centre of Cardiff it's far nicer staying here in the middle of the beautiful countryside - it's restful, peaceful and our restaurant is widely accepted as one of the very best in Wales and the West Country.
We are also only a few minutes away from Cardiff International Airport!
Visiting the Millennium Stadium?
We are ideally suited - The West House provides an ideal base for Match Days. Ours is a quiet, relaxing atmosphere - unwind after sporting events. Once sampled, most of our match guests return time after time!
Our B&B Rooms
The West House offers 20 superbly equipped rooms in a mixture of singles, twins and doubles. All rooms are well equipped with en-suite bathrooms and the usual assortment of amenities that most guests expect.
Residents are also offered email facilities and a dedicated modem point (for internet access and fax) is available in most rooms.
Each room is furnished sympathetically, bearing in mind that much of the building is over 400 years old! Illustrated here are two rooms from the old part of the house and we also have a number of newer rooms furnished in a more contemporary style.
