The Great House
The Great House Hotel is a simply stunning Grade II listed country house, in the village of Laleston, just west of Bridgend. Restored with care and meticulous attention to detail, this 15th century building now offers 13 rooms, each with their own unique charm and character. The house itself is believed to have been a gift from Elizabeth I to the Earl of Leicester, and many original features have been retained in the restoration.
Each of the 13 rooms has its own character, with no one-size-fits-all approach at The Great House. From four-posters to king sized sleigh beds, The Great House offers luxury in a relaxed and friendly setting. From the deluxe bedding, to the bathrobes, towels and toiletries, everything has been carefully chosen to add to your comfort and enjoyment during your stay.
All rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, and en-suite bathrooms, with luxury toiletries from Cole & Lewis.
The Great House is also home to Leicesters Restaurant, winner of the 2016 Hotel Restaurant of the Year for Wales. The restaurant is relaxed and welcoming, and the chefs take pride in sourcing the very best local ingredients, to produce an inspired selection of Welsh cooking at its finest. Guests can also take Afternoon Tea in the lounge or on the patio of The Great House, enjoying a selection of delicious sandwiches and freshly baked cakes.
